Firestorm Trial by Fire are available on request. This is the only credible, publicly available account of the Canberra fire disaster, a story told by firefighters, victims and the police. Few agencies would comment or assist in any way in its production. It tells of Australia as a continent that lives by fire, and where there are major conflagrations, loss of life and property every year going back to before the arrival of Captain James Cook. Yet Australia does not have a national bushfire policy and each year when the land lights up, firefighting crews are under resourced and farmers and property owners left at the mercy of nature. It is time Australia returned some of the billions of dollars spent in overseas aid each year or wasted in point-scoring fiascoes. Send me an email to
